Quality Assurance in Higher Education

About

The Conference on Quality Assessment of Higher Education Institutions has long been developing current topics related to quality assurance and quality improvement in Czech higher education.

Demands for more flexible learning in higher education are not new but have become increasingly urgent in recent years. Demographic changes, the experience of the covid-19 pandemic and changes in the labour market have all contributed to the term 'flexibility' permeating all levels of higher education. At the same time, however, the term "flexibility" becomes very flexible, perhaps to the extent that it now represents very different contents for different actors.

How do learners perceive and think about the flexibility of their studies and learning pathways? What does flexibility mean for university lecturers? What support would students and lecturers need to make the most of the available opportunities and avoid overload and fatigue? How do colleges define flexibility? Is their understanding consistent with the national strategy on flexibility? What do flexibly designed degree programmes mean for quality assurance, including accreditation? How flexible can we be in curriculum innovation and creating safe spaces in universities?

We will pose all these questions to the guests and the audience present, knowing that even if we do not find clear answers, we will have the opportunity to share common ideas and inspire each other.
